Kenya's high court ruled on Friday that a case challenging Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's impeachment should be referred to the Chief Justice. Kenya's parliament voted on Tuesday to impeach Gachagua on 11 charges including enriching himself and stirring ethnic hatred.

Kenya’s deputy president has defended himself while facing an impeachment motion in which he's accused of supporting anti-government protests in June and of being involved in corruption and other irregularities.

Kenya Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has vowed to fight his impeachment battle until the end, brushing off any possibility of resignation.
