West Virginia residents who want to vote in the general election have until the end of the day Tuesday to register or update their registration. Oct. 15 is the deadline for registering to vote on Election Day on Nov.

With less than a month away from the general election, 18 counties across West Virginia—including Randolph, and Ritchie counties—still need poll workers, according to Secretary of State Mac Warner.

A child and dependent tax credit passed by the state Legislature would allow people to receive a non-refundable credit of around $225 to apply to their taxes if they receive the federal child care tax credit, which is around $450 a year. Around 16,000 West Virginia families receive the federal child care tax credit.

Numerous other 2020 election deniers are running in 2024 elections. At least 23 of this year’s 51 Republican nominees for governor, state elections chief or the US Senate have rejected or contested the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s 2020 victory over Trump.

The presidential race isn't the only highly consequential nail-biter for 2024. Senate Democrats are already clinging to control by a razor thin margin, and the loss of Senator Joe Manchin's West Virginia seat is expected.

There are varying ways in which someone can qualify for mail voting; absentee voting (excuse or no-excuse) and standardized mail voting.
