While HBO has yet to officially lock in a Hal Jordan for its upcoming Lanterns series based on DC’s comics, the network has found its John Stewart.

The Warner Bros. and DC Studios series follows "new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland," according to Wednesday's press release from the cable network.

Actor Aaron Pierre was recently cast as John Stewart in the DC Uiverse’s Lanterns series. And now, Pierre, who recently shot to widespread popularity with Netflix’s Rebel Ridge, has addressed his casting as an iconic DC character.
